Profile: Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali, Selangor Menteri Besar 15th
Petaling Jaya: PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali validly appointed as the new Chief Minister of Selangor.
The appointment is effective 23 September 2014 for the pleasure of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
Azmin, who is also Member of the Legislative Assembly (Assembly) International Hill received a letter of appointment signed by the Private Secretary to the Sultan of Selangor, Datuk Mohamad Munir Bani, Monday afternoon.
"Please be informed that the Sultan of Selangor has consented to appoint Hon (Honourable) you to the office of Chief Minister of Selangor into force 23 September (Tuesday).
"Accordingly, the Hon'ble requested to attend the ceremonial swearing and pledge and assignment of undertaking the instrument appointing the Honourable Chief Minister of Selangor," according to the letter.

YB Azmin Ali (born on August 25, 1964) is the Member of Parliament for Gombak , Selangor and also the State Assemblyman for Bukit Antarabangsa , Selangor from the People's Justice Party ( PKR ). At the grassroots level, he is the Deputy President of PKR .
At the state level, he is a member of the committee Selcat . He served as Sabah PKR chief, then PKR Federal Territory and Selangor PKR now.
Family
Ustaz Ali's father and mother Hajjah Che Tom Yahaya settled in Kampung Klang Gate, Taman Melawati, Ulu Klang, Selangor. Siblings include Azwan Ali (actor, host) and Arpah Ali (motivator).
Azmin Ali was born in Singapore (who was still in Malaysia) on August 25, 1964 and is the brother of the controversial TV host of Azwan Ali.Beliau received his early education at the School of Gurney Road (2), Kuala Lumpur from 1971 to 1976.
Then his secondary schooling at Sekolah Tinggi Setapak, Kuala Lumpur (1977 - 1979) and Technical Institute, Jalan Cheras, Kuala Lumpur (1980-1981). He continued his studies at the University of Minnesota, United States.
