Video: Figure 14 Injured BOM Explosion in Bukit Bintang KL
Kuala Lumpur: A severe and 14 others were reportedly injured in an explosion at a complex in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur at about 4.30 this morning.
Witnesses saw a car waiting for things to fall from the second floor above a pub and then explode.
Victims of severe and six other injured were sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL), while the other seven are sent to Tung Shin Hospital.
Some foreign tourists from Thailand, China and Singapore among the victims who suffered injuries in the explosion.
Among the victims treated at Tung Shin Hospital, Jalan Pudu is Lim Soon Hock, 51, Teoh Meng Keow, 40, Yaw Lee Hock, 41, and MA Yunfeng (China).
Moreover, the victims being treated at Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) including Tiong Yie Kwang Lim Soon Hock, 51, Yoo Loo Hock, 41, Ravindren, 49, Jasu Sae yor citizens of Thailand, Yong Jia Qin (China) and Wong Kim Teng (Singapore).
Initial police investigation believed the blast targeted against male victims who suffered serious injuries in the incident.
Police will investigate the background of the victim involved in the explosion.
So far, the head of the Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department, Senior Assistant Commissioner Gan Kong Meng confirmed the explosion at Jalan Bintang, Bukit Bintang it.
Meanwhile, four luxury vehicles damaged by the blast debris.
In addition, the Deputy Chief of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Kuala Lumpur ACP Khairi Ahrasa said, this incident has nothing to do with the militant Islamic state (IS).
"This incident has more to crimes motivated by disagreement or revenge involving individuals motivated to kill competitors.
"We are moving to identify the individuals involved," he said.
