Navy gunboats missing still missing



Kuala Lumpur: A gunboats along with seven members of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) is missing in the waters Mengalum Island, Sabah, Sunday mornings are still missing as of 8 this morning.
 
Chief of Navy, Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Jaafar said in his Twitter today, board royal (KD) Lekiu, KD Ganas, KD Serang and two assets belonging to the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) RC Bold and RC Mabul, still continue searching CB90 combat boat.
 
"Up to 8 in the morning, are still missing. KD Lekiu, KD Ganas KD Serang, KM Bold and RC Mabul continue searching, B200T assigned.
 
"Rough seas (level 5) and low rain clouds complicate the search by kapalx (RMN Super Lynx) and Beechcraft aircraft in search and rescue (SAR)," said Abdul Aziz.

In a statement last night, Abdul Aziz said the gunboats sailed from Kota Kinabalu naval base at 5 am Sunday before the cut off radio communication with the escort ship at 11.15 am.
