Taska Permata Bonda temporarily closed



PUTRAJAYA:  Taska Permata Bonda at Precinct 11 here, which is ordered to be closed temporarily due to the death of a four month old baby for failing to comply with the ratio prescribed under the Regulations Child Care Centre in 2012, Director-General of Social Welfare, Datuk Mohd Norani Hashim.

He said the regulations prescribing the ratio of carers to be 1: 3 (a nanny: 3 children under one year), 1: 5 (a nanny: five children aged one to three years) and 1:10 (a nanny : 10 children aged three years to four years).
"Initial investigations Social Welfare Department (SWD) found that during the event there were only four caregivers who care for 33 children under the age of four years and six children in transit over the age of four years, compared with nine caregivers should be," he said in statement here on Sunday.

Last Tuesday, a four month old baby girl, Nur Muhd ​​Zamri Imna Khalisa died in the nursery. The baby was found in a state of numb and blue by his parents when they wanted to bring home their baby at 5.45 pm on that day.

He said the department also found that Taska Permata Mother failed to comply with the conditions prescribed under the Rules Child Care Centre in 2012.



Norani said that under the rules, all players will need to ensure that designated caregiver must attend course Nurture Childcare and Early Gem and pass for working in nurseries respectively.
"The review found that four caregivers who work in nurseries Gems Mother of the incident have not yet attended and passed the course," he said.

Accordingly, Norani said the department with respect to Subsection 16 (1) (a) of the Child Care Centre Act 1984 (Act 308), by order in writing direct the premises temporarily closed until further notice.
