USIM students anxious bus almost in canyon



Gombak: A bus carrying 24 students of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) skidded and plunged into a ravine about three meters after thought to have suffered brake problems before involved in an accident on Old River Road, here, this afternoon.

In the 6.30pm incident, the bus was carrying two drivers believed the way back from Ulu Yam Recreational Forest and alleged lost control after going down steep slopes.

Gombak police chief ACP Ahmad Ali said, however, the accident was not a victim who was killed and only two female students reported critical.

Respectively was rushed to Hospital Selayang and Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment, he said.

Each student aged 20 to 25 years involved are safe and nine of the victims are now being treated for minor injuries, "he told reporters at the scene today .

He said police had taken evidence the bus driver aged 44 and further investigations are underway to find out the real cause kemalangan.
